As we step into 2025, I’ve decided this year is all about one thing: joy… or rather, the pursuit of it. Not the big, flashy moments (although I wouldn’t say no to a jackpot win … big or small Universe, I’ll take it!), but the kind of joy that’s warm, steady, and grounding—like sunshine.

“Sunshine” is one of my two words for the year, inspired by a simple but profound quote: “If I do anything today, may I be human sunshine for someone.” That sentiment hit me in all the best ways. It’s a reminder that we all have the power to be light for others, even on our darkest days. And it is something I will aim for … even when I am hangry, or pms’ing, or jacked up on hormones (that one … may be a bit harder to be human sunshine).

The other word guiding me is “Heal.” Healing isn’t always pretty or linear, but it’s necessary. Whether it’s healing old wounds, strengthening my marriage, or reconnecting with myself, it’s all part of this year’s journey.

Brody worked on New Years, so I spent it with two of my good friends, and they were doing a 2025 Bingo Card! To make this pursuit of joy more tangible, my 2025 Bingo Card is filled with goals that embody sunshine, healing, and, of course, joy.

Here are a few highlights:

1. Circle Wellness

This year, I’m prioritizing my well-being—mind, body, and soul. Circle Wellness feels like the perfect space to do that. It’s not just about self-care but also about connection. When Brody and I did this last year, we were both in total awe and said, “we need to make this a priority!” … so – that was my #1 on my list!

2. An Oregon Road Trip with the Hubs

After a challenging year, I’m all about the simple joy of Brody’s hand on my leg, blasting road trip playlists, all the snacks and drinks, and getting lost in conversation (and maybe the occasional wrong turn). This trip will be about adventure, reconnection, and finding beauty in the small things. (AND, hopefully a trip to the Nike store).

3. Scatter Kindness Event

If you know me, you know I love these events. There’s something magical about scattering kindness like confetti—reminding people they’re enough, just as they are. It’s my little way of being sunshine in someone’s day. The last one I did was in 2022, and I feel like it’s time I get some cards to the printers, organize a small event with like-minded people and spread love!

4. IVF Journey

This is a big one. It’s a step that holds so much hope and vulnerability, but it’s also a journey of healing and possibility. With how my body has been working (or not working), I hesitated to put this one on my Bingo Card, but … I am giving myself grace, to make a change to that one square if things change with my health, which I’ll know in a few months.

5. Finish a Few Books

I got Mel Robbins “Let Them” Book for Christmas, and I am a few chapters in already, so I know this is one square I will be able to check off! I have a few others books I want to make sure to read, BUT I also want to start a book club … so who knows! I usually read 10+ books a year, and hopefully I can keep that up. I make my coffee, light my candles, turn the fireplace on, put on guitar or piano music, and read for minimum 15 minutes.

This bingo card isn’t about ticking off accomplishments. It’s about creating moments that matter—whether that’s finding peace within, laughing with friends and family, or brightening someone else’s day. It’s a reminder that joy is intentional, built through small acts of love, connection, and growth.

So here’s to 2025, to the pursuit of joy, and to making this year one of healing, adventure, and everything in between.
